Candle Care Guide

Welcome to The Scented Essence! We believe that the experience starts before you even light the wick. Here’s everything you need to know to get the most out of your luxury, non-toxic candles and enjoy every beautiful moment they bring.

🕯️ 1. First Burn Matters
When lighting your candle for the first time, allow it to burn for 4 hours, depending on the size of your candle. This ensures a full melt pool across the surface, preventing tunneling and giving you the longest burn time. As our candles are non toxic, a full melt pool is also required to attain the strongest scent.

✂️ 2. Trim the Wick
Before each use, trim the wick to around 4 mm. This helps control the flame height, reduces soot, and extends the life of your candle. We recommend using a wick trimmer for the best results but if you don't have one, scissors or a piece of tissue will do.

🌬️ 3. Snuff, Don’t Blow
Extinguish your candle using a snuffer. This prevents smoke and keeps the fragrance pure. Blowing out the candle can cause the wick to smolder, which may affect the scent.

⏳ 4. Burn Time
Limit each burn session to 4 hours to prevent the container from becoming too hot and overheating.

🔥 5. Safety First

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Keep your lit candle out of reach of children and pets.

Place the candle away from drafts, curtains, and anything flammable.

Never touch or attempt to lift the container while the candle is burning or if the wax is still hot.

Always burn your candle on a heat-resistant surface.

Stop burning your candle once the wax level is less than 10mm from the bottom to avoid overheating.

🌡️ 6. The Perfect Burn Environment
Candles burn best in a room free from drafts. If your candle starts to flicker or the flame grows too high, it’s a sign to trim the wick again. This helps maintain a steady, safe flame.

♻️ 7. Repurpose Your Jar
Once your candle has burned down, give the jar a new life:

a) Clean the Jar: Place the candle in the freezer for a few hours, then gently pop out the frozen wax. Alternatively, use a heat tool to melt the remaining wax and wipe it out with paper towels. Wash the jar with soap and water.
b) Plant Your Wildflower Seeds: Each candle comes with wildflower seed paper. Fill your cleaned jar with soil, plant the seed paper under a light layer of soil, place it by a sunny window, and water gently. Enjoy watching your wildflowers grow and bring a touch of nature into your home!

💖 8. Store with Care
To preserve the fragrance, store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keeping the gold lid on helps seal in the scent and keeps dust away.

Wax Melt Care Guide

Welcome to the world of wax melts! These little pieces of scented joy are a fantastic way to fill your space with beautiful, long-lasting fragrance. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your wax melts and keep enjoying that gorgeous scent.

🕯️ 1. Getting Started: Choosing the Right Warmer
To get the best out of your wax melts, use an electric or tealight wax warmer. We recommend a warmer with a 4-hour tealight for an even, consistent melt. Make sure it’s designed for wax melts (not oil diffusers), as they reach the perfect temperature to release the scent safely.

🌡️ 2. Using the Right Amount
Take 1-2 cubes and place them in the dish of your wax warmer. The amount can be adjusted based on your room size and preference. Start small, as you can always add more if you want a stronger scent throw.

⏳ 3. Time It Right
Our wax melts typically provide 6-8 hours of fragrance per cube. We suggest using your warmer for 2-4 hours at a time to enjoy a gradual, long-lasting scent experience without overheating the wax.

♻️ 4. Replacing the Wax
You’ll know it’s time to replace the wax when the fragrance is no longer noticeable, even when the warmer is on. To switch out the wax:

Let it cool and harden completely.
Gently pop it out using a wooden or silicone tool (avoid sharp objects to protect your warmer).
Alternatively, place a cotton ball in the melted wax to soak it up before disposing of it safely.

🔥 5. Safety First
Never leave your wax warmer unattended.
Keep your wax melts and warmer away from pets, children, and anything flammable.
Use your warmer on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
Avoid using your warmer for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent overheating.
Do not add water or any other substances to the wax melts. They are designed to be used as they are.

🌱 6. Store with Care
For the best experience, store your wax melts in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This helps preserve their fragrance and quality, ensuring a fresh, strong scent when you use them.

🛁 7. Scent Pairing Tips
If you love experimenting with scents, consider using two separate warmers in different areas of your space to create a unique, layered fragrance experience. For example, enjoy the festive notes of 'Mistletoe' in the living room and the comforting aroma of 'Gingerbread' in the kitchen for a festive, holiday atmosphere.
